  1. In a pressure cooker cook the Idichakka(jackfruit) along with salt, turmeric powder and water. Give two whistles and remove from flame.
  2. Open the pressure cooker and drain the idichakka. Mash the idichakka with the help of fork. You will notice it splitting into thin lengthy strips like shredded cabbage. Thats the structure we want.
  3. Grind the coconut, green chillies,garlic,cumin seeds into a coarse paste. Keep a side.
  4. Heat a pan along with oil add mustard seeds,urad dal and red chilli allow them to fry. Add chopped onions and saute till the onions turn into light brown. Add curry leaves,hing and mix it well.
  5. Add shredded jackfruit and mix it well.
  6. Add coconut paste and mix it well,until all the ingredients are combined well.
  7. Cover with lid and cook on low flame for 5-6min.
  8. Garnish with redchillies and curry leaves.
