Instructions to make Bisi Bele Bath:
- Wash and rinse rice and peanuts. Soak for 15 minutes. Now put it in pressure cooker with water and pressure cook till 2 whistles. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
- Wash and Soak Daal fir 15 minutes. Now transfer it in a pressure cooker and add salt, turmeric powder and water and close the lid and pressure cook till 7-8 whistles. Let pressure releases automatically.
- Open the lid and mash Daal thoroughly with ladle.
- Wash, peel and chop turnip, carrot, capsicum,, potato, cauliflower and peas.
- Put all vegies in a karahi. Add 2 bowl of water and cook on low flame till it turn soft.
- Wash a big ball of tamarind and Soak in water for 30 minutes.
- Now add boiled rice and peanuts in dal cooker and let it simmer on low flame for 5 minutes. Now Add cooked vegetables with its stew. Add 2 tb spoon Bisi Bele Bath powder. - (see recipe)
- Add tamarind water and mix gently. Cover the lid and cook on low flame till all ingredients mix well and an aroma starts coming.
- In a small pan heat cooking oil. Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds and when cumin seeds splutter put red chilli, curry leaves, asafoetida and saute for 1 minute. Now add this tadka on bath and mix. Switch off the flame.
- Serve hot garnished with ghee and cashew nuts.
