  6. Make ready Fresh coriander leaves chopped

  8. Prepare Salt to taste

  12. Prepare 1 tbspn Tamarind
  13. Prepare 1/2 Cup Oil

Instructions to make Chana Pulao:

  1. Rice soaked for 15 minutes.
  2. In a deep pot, heat the oil and add the sliced onions.Fry till the onions become golden.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for two minutes.
  4. Add a big splash of water,dried plums and tamarind Continue to cook.
  5. Now add the chickpeas,all the spices and cook.
  6. Add 1/2 chopped green chilli and 2 glass of water. When water boils add rice.
  7. Once the water has dried out, add chopped fresh coriander leaves and green chilli and secure a tight fitting lid onto the pot and turn the heat down to the lowest setting, to steam for 10-15 minutes. You can wrap the lid in a clean tablecloth so it absorbs more steam, leading to slightly fluffier and less mushier rice.
  8. Allow the rice to rest for 10-15 minutes after steaming, then fluff up before serving warm!
  9. Serve with raita and enjoy 😋
